Modkat Litter Tray

We have tried MANY different open-top litter boxes for our two cats, and this is the best one we’ve used. It keeps the litter scatter to a minimum (one of our cats is a big kicker), and the liner makes it easy to scoop and keep clean. We are delighted with this box and highly recommend it!

I have two cats that really know how to kick out the litter. I needed the higher walls to keep the litter from being spread around the room, and this box is doing the job. I also like the liner feature. The urine soaked clumps are so much easier to remove from the corners and edges! Excellent idea.

Good litter box! Putting it together, I could tell a lot of thought went into the design and the materials used seem to be of decent quality. Worthwhile purchase that effectively keeps all urine inside the litter box (which was why I mainly got it). Economical price too considering other options are easily twice as much. I'll likely upgrade to another Modkat in the near future when I have a bit more money to spend on a bigger box. My only issue is the side extension piece--when attaching it and bending it around the edges of the box, it started to tear at the seam/corner. I easily fixed it by reinforcing it with shipping tape; just something to be careful with.

This is my second litter box purchase from Modkat. My first purchase was the top entry litter box, which I liked very much until my cats decided they no longer wanted to use it. This is why I purchase the open top box. I liked the idea of having a shield around the box to limit the splatter of litter, however, the shield is not well designed. It does not fit the holders precisely, the notches are slightly offl. because of that, the shield does not stay in place. It is actually quite annoying. It seemed that it could’ve been better designed., unless I have a defective product.

I was a little wary of spending this much for a litter box, but I’m so happy I did! This litter box prevents the mess from my disabled cat aiming too high when she pees. She also likes to stand on the little “ledge” for support when she goes, so a nice feature. The true test was when I cleaned the box: SO easy to lift up the reusable liner to dump rather than try to wrestle with a box. And the liner is tough- like a heavy-duty tarp. I used a vinegar spray and everything just hosed right off- no scraping or scrubbing like the old plastic box. The only thing I would nitpick is that I wish it were a smidge wider for my big disabled girl to be able to turn around more easily, but she seems to manage. Overall so very pleased with this purchase!
