The Modkat Litter Tray's splash guard snaps securely into the base and overlaps the tarp liner. This creates a 15.75” (40cm) high barrier that keeps the spray and mess inside.

The walk-off platform slides easily onto the base, locking the liner in place. It also acts as a litter deflector, keeping the mess inside the box.

All Modkat litter boxes work with our perfect-fit reusable liners. They are constructed from durable tarpaulin, so they are smooth, scratch resistant, easy to clean, and they last up to 3 months. Just wash, rinse, and repeat!

- Click the five clips into the rectangular slits in the base.
- Position Modkat Liner (Type-G) in the base with the open side facing front.
- Open the splash guard and bend each corner back slightly to straighten.
- Insert the splash guard into the five reinserted clips one by one.
- Slide the walk-off platform over the liner and front edge of the Tray.

This is the third “tray” (uses G type liner) Modkat litter box I have purchased; I had been wanting three boxes but I wasn’t sure if I wanted the expense of three liners. Also, I was concerned about unnecessarily adding plastic to landfills. But I use each liner for 3 months and liner use keeps the litter boxes themselves in new condition, which means that the litter boxes will last indefinitely. And the system works great, especially with the soybean-based litter I use, which doesn’t stick to the liners, so scooping is not a chore and the litter stays pristine. Now “changing the litter” means lifting out the liner, litter and all, washing and drying the shield, and wiping-down the box, and it’s like brand new; it could not be any easier.

The length and high sides of your litter tray have been immensely helpful in reducing the amount of urine spray and litter that goes outside the litter box. We have a big cat (long and a bit chunky) and recently started having cleanup issues due to urine and litter not being contained by the box. This was also creating cleanup issues with the cover we put over the box.
We tried a few other options before finding your product but the other options were not sufficient. However, once we started using your product - about three weeks ago - the issues have been greatly reduced.
There is one tradeoff. It is slightly more difficult for us to do the daily cleaning of the litter box due to the high walls, but the tradeoff is worth the benefits.
I was pleasantly surprised that the liner also offsets some of the difficulty. The liner cleans easier than the plastic tray.

What a great company! My cat is a monster in the litter box and I was really looking forward to my order, when it was stolen from my mail area! Modkat customer service was steller and they replaced my order. I am so appreciative! The walls of my home are too, as my kiddy can no longer access them due to the high sides of his new litter box.
