My male former street cat sprays high and without abandon. I went through 3 different "high wall" litterboxes and many round of deep cleaning enzyme spray before biting the bullet and purchasing this box. It's worth the money. His pee stays inside, it's less smelly, and I'm beyond relieved. For me the only minus is the flat silicone litter mat doesn't do anything to stop his litter tracking. I'll swap that out for a larger textured mat that can capture some of the litter. But 10/10 on the box itself.
Not the updated version shown in photos. They still sent me the old one. Disappointing.
Update: their customer service was excellent. They quickly corrected the issue. 5 stars for service alone.
This is a good solution for cat litter. It is well designed. Not perfect but works well. Not sure about the hanging bag and how often to replace it ... Still lots of litter on the little mat ...
I pondered the cost for this litter box for a good bit, and I regret nothing in how much it saves me from having both litter tracked outside of the box (I no longer have to vacuum each day now) and the containment of the odor too. I have yet to see how well the liners hold up, but the box alone is worth it. Would buy again, and will if anything should happen & I need another.
Love these TabFit liners! I have been a Modkat customer for years and this liner redesign is awesome - the liners are so much EASIER and better looking now without the hooks!
After many years with my original mod cat XL, I tried a litter robot. While one of my cats had no problem using the new litter box, my other cat told me exactly how it felt about the new mechanical litter box. He actually used my chair as his litter box in defiance. Needless to say I purchased another mod cat XL which is the only one he will use.
My male cat sticks his butt up in the back and pees high. The Modkat litter box and liners are the perfect solution for me! His pee stays in the box and I’m able to wipe the sides of the liner down with pet type deoderizing spray. After about 2 months, I change out the liner. I love the way the top folds up and back-it makes scooping poop easier and like i said, easier to clean the sides and back for a quick wipe. I love this product so much I bought 2. It was so worth the price. Previosly I was using a plastic covered litter box, but the pee would leak thru the side seams so I would line the seams with paper towels, which would soak up the pee and make the room smell like pee until I could clean it. I would curse every time I had time to do this- twice a day. And deal with the urine smell. I no longer have these issues with the Modkat litter box.
This is the third box I have purchased and it is exceptional and works quite well for my two cats.
I like the new charcoal packs as they aren't so messy. They do not stay in place very well is sthe only trouble.
Love it totally fixed the problem I was having with the cat peeing out the entry door they even give you a cool cat toy with it definitely purchase again
I’m glad they sell replacements of this little walk off platform. My cat was missing it because I accidentally threw it away so finally bought one. Thank you, Modkat!
This litter box is such a huge improvement over the one it replaced. No more lingering odors. No more litter all over the place.

My large male cat periodically refuses to let my small female cat use the litter box. When I saw the Modcat top opening box, I had to try it because I was sure my male would be uninterested in the small opening and the female would have no difficulty. I was also attracted by the likelihood of less litter all over and the sturdy liner. I was not disappointed. My female adapted to the new box in less than 10 minutes, and when the male checked it out, he became completely disinterested. I highly recommend this litter box.
Great product as always, but my cats were disappointed about the new packaging. Bring back the puzzle/treat box package 😢
Love these boxes and liners, keep everything neat and tidy while looking modern. Nice high sides and liners prevent spills, etc.,
The liners cover well so that monthly cleaning only requires removal of litter and liner, wiping the box inside and out with Lysol Wipes, installing a new liner and litter. Boom. Done.
