Litter Keeper

Outstanding- easy to assemble and use!

I told myself I didn’t need to spend money on this, and then I purchased it anyway. I am SO GLAD I did. The people who designed and built the Litter Keeper are geniuses!

My guy squats and pees as soon as he’s into the box so I love the extra 2” of that lip on the entrance. He tolerates the high sides because they’re translucent making him feel like he’s inside a tight space. I have had 3 separate automatic litter cleaning boxes that my 15+ pound big boy has destroyed by his preferred pattern of peeing at the entrance so it gets into the layers of the machine. Well over $1000 wasted!! So much better by getting a litter box system that makes manual scooping super easy. After first week of use I can say I love this product!!

I’m crazy about Modkat litter keepers because they are easy to use, but more importantly, easy to change the bags out for disposal. The bags are sturdy and I haven’t had a blowout yet. Thanks Modkat!

This litter box literally changed my life. My cat is diabetic and her urine is sticky and had to be scraped off the bottom of the litter box. I did this twice a day, usually on my knees! I can’t believe how easy it is to use this box with the (washable) liner!

Very happy that Modkat came out with their litter keeper! I actually wrote in to customer service a couple years ago to recommend they make it since I knew they’d do a great job. It’s finally here and I was right - loving it from the get-go!

I am pleased with the convenience of the litter keeper. I scoop twice a day and being able to just deposit the waste next to the litter box is great.
I do change the bag once a week and haven’t noticed any smell. One recommendation would be to make the bags biodegradable.

Dirt gets everywhere on the top underneath the lid. The scoop that cones with id os almost too large to fit through the opening to dump clumps; hence litter gets everywhere

I like the Litter Keeper and how it works. However, there is an odor that continually comes as it fills up. I think that the deodorizer that comes with it should be somehow completely under the lid, not between the lid where you deposit and the lid where you can access the bag. This is disappointing especially since I have the litter box in a small area. The rest of the system is great, including the Tidy Up!

I had seen this item before and assumed it was storage for clean litter until I clicked on it and read more about it. I purchased one after realizing it was to store used litter, and it's made cleaning my cat's litter box much easier. While pricey, I think my cat is worth the investment.

Large capacity, no smell. Easy to use

There is a lot to love about the Litter Keeper. I have had a cat for over 6 years and just added a new kitten, which means more litter to scoop. I was using so many plastic bags a day to scoop waste, then they would sit in the kitchen trash can and stink it up until I took it out. I didn't want to go through so many bags and always smelling litter in the box and in the trash. This Modkat Litter Keeper has changed the game. I can scoop waste from two litter boxes into it daily and it holds enough that I only have to change out the bag every 4-5 days. If you had only one box, it would last even longer. While closed, it completely traps the litter smell inside due to the charcoal filter and secure lid so it works to leave it for multiple days. This has made my whole litter box experience better plus I am using less plastic and dealing with far fewer smells. I only have a couple of suggestions for improvement. I wish the hole for dumping the litter was a little wider - it fits the scoop so closely that litter ends up on the rim instead of inside. I also wish it didn't have the raised areas as it makes wiping down that inner lid a little more cumbersome. Lastly, I like how the inner lid can flip up and stay open to change the bag but I wish the outer lid could lock up without having to push the foot pedal. I like to keep that open while scooping the box and having to keep my foot on the pedal the whole time gets annoying. These small enhancement requests do not detract from my opinion that this is still a 5-star product!

I’d give the litter keeper a 5 star had the springs that hold the trap door not popped off right off the bat. Please use stronger springs. I also suggest making the scoop a little smaller or the opening for the scoop a little bigger. The good news is it makes scooping a lot more convenient and it is a big help in controlling the odor.

I had a regular trashcan but odors kept escaping but the Modcat unit is amazing. I only replace the bag every 4/5 days and I have 2 massive cats. I have the XL litterbox and the trashcan; Modcat gear is really well designed and their after sales is second to none!!!

A simple solution to a stinky situation that makes keeping the litter box clean at all times. Have enjoyed the convenience of using it so far.

Good Design and contains the smell

Overall, I enjoy the litter keeper. It is more convenient because it allows me to keep the scoopings inside the house for longer times without any foul smell. However, when the pee ball is large, it does not fit through the trap door well and I need to flip open the entire lid to dump it. It is not that inconvenient by any means, but defeats the purpose of the trap door. Another issue I have is that the clip of the lid is not strong. If you're moving the litter keeper around, you can only hold the hinge part. If you hold at the front, the lid just flips open without being able to hold the weight. These are two parts where improvements can be seen, especially when this product is not cheap.

i wish the disposal slot was a bit more large. lots of litter is spread around the
top and it is annoying. i am now taking an old paintbursh to swish it all down the hole.

on a more positive note, it's beautiful and everything works except what i cited above. i am giving it three stars because it is so gorgeous and i want it to work!
i love the top entry litter box and so does my kitty!

A very useful item. It make it MUCH more convenient cleaning out the kitty litter box.

The “push down” mechanism (the waste goes through to the receptacle) is very small. I’m getting litter all over the top of it. Also, I’m not sure if the odor control is any better than the “Litter Genie”it replaced.

I love that the scooped liter is sealed in with no odor. However every time I scoop liter I have spillage on the lid necessitating using a small brush to sweep the residue into the small hole. The hole needs to be bigger than the scooper!!

I have been eyeing this product for some time now. I monitored the reviews and I was very impressed how the company made adjustments as they received the input. So, I felt, now is the time buy. I am pleased with my purchase; it was easy to assemble and does its job. I got it because I am leaving on vacation and I will have a sitter and I did not want the little baggies put in my regular trash can and sit for so many days. I have tested this product and I have zero smell; it is in my office which is not a large area - NO SMELL!! I use the crystal litter and I have 1 cat; just for reference.

This is just a very well made product. It's compact but holds a lot of litter. The lid locks so my dogs can't get into it. It's as attractive as I could hope for in a product designed to store waste. I'm pleased with my purchase.

This litter keeper is very well designed. It takes a small amount of practice to get the hang of the trap door, but once you do it’s very easy to use. I hardly smell any idors from it, and the trash bags are super durable. Highly recommended.

did a ton of research and this had the best reviews. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The charcoal filter really cuts the smell down to zero. The litter keeper has been a huge help and cuts back on the smell too. They are a bit more costly but well worth the money. I couldn't be happier
